The alternative business funding ecosystem often struggles with fragmented lender networks, manual underwriting procedures, and inconsistent communication channels. Ali Jozani, founder of JZNI Holdings LLC affiliate The Funded Method, sees these challenges as an opportunity to modernize the sector through structured, tech-native training.
Operating as an AI-native training program, The Funded Method guides newcomers through a curriculum that pairs classic underwriting education with modern workflows. These technological frameworks are built to handle client intake, lender matchmaking, application submissions, and follow-up sequences more efficiently.
From Pre-Med to Funder Operations
Jozani’s path into finance moved away from conventional expectations. Born in Iran and moving to the United States at age ten, he faced familial pressures to pursue law or medicine, initially undertaking pre-med studies. However, two distinct entrepreneurial ventures redirected his trajectory: an unsuccessful Amazon FBA enterprise and a volatile run trading digital assets.
These early experiences taught him that speculation offers only temporary gains, while lasting businesses require disciplined operational frameworks. He subsequently spent over five years managing operations at a seven-figure alternative funding brokerage, personally overseeing roughly 95% of the firm’s overall deal flow.
During that time, Jozani onboarded and coached more than 200 remote sales professionals, structured the internal underwriting division, and established direct ties with over 200 individual lenders. This hands-on tenure gave him deep familiarity with merchant cash advances, business lines of credit, Small Business Administration (SBA) loans, home equity lines of credit (HELOCs), and zero-percent credit card stacking. Crucially, he learned that successful brokers must know which funders approve specific businesses, how individual lenders assess risk, and how to keep paperwork moving.
“There are more than 200 lenders in this market,” Jozani noted. “Most new brokers know ten of them, and they wonder why their approval rate is low.”
Bridging the Automation Gap
This extensive field background drove the creation of The Funded Method. Jozani points out that alternative business funding remains one of the last corners of modern finance where critical tasks are handled manually, with brokers evaluating bank statements by hand and losing viable transactions to missed documents.
“This industry is one of the last places in finance where a person still reads a bank statement by hand,” Jozani stated. “That is not tradition, that is a gap.”
The 12-week program addresses this gap by introducing foundational underwriting concepts before layering in an AI-driven operational stack. Enrollees study business appraisal, funder requirements, coordination intakes, submissions, lender relations, and follow-up automation.
The curriculum sequence is intentional: Jozani insists that brokers master fundamental underwriting mechanics before employing artificial intelligence tools.
“AI should do the underwriting math. The broker still has to understand the decision,” he explained. “Skip that order and you have built a very fast way to be wrong.”
The core objective is to help new brokers secure their initial funded transaction within roughly 90 days, cutting down months of trial-and-error learning.
Systems Over Sales Tactics
Jozani emphasizes repeatable operational systems over aggressive salesmanship for long-term brokerage success. “Every broker fails the same way,” he remarked. “Not from a lack of hustle, from a lack of process. The deal dies in the follow-up, not the pitch.”
Along with the core cohort, The Funded Method provides self-paced learning resources and distributes complimentary industry guides like The 2026 Broker Stack, an annual briefing detailing the technologies, financing instruments, lenders, and operating systems shaping the market.
By automating routine administrative tasks while safeguarding human oversight, Jozani’s framework offers a practical blueprint for the modern financial landscape, aiming to establish a structured entry corridor into an industry previously reliant on informal networks and costly missteps.
